Citigroup Team/Mentor Grant
In conjunction with Citigroup and the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations, the Pinellas Education Foundation is pleased to offer the opportunity for teacher teams to apply for the Citigroup Team/Mentor Grant, a coaching and mentoring mini-grant program in its fourth year. This grant is designed to provide an incentive for collaborations between new and veteran teachers around "classroom based, student learning projects”.

2007-2008 Guidelines
· Each applicant team must include at least one new teacher (teaching 1- 5 years) and one veteran teacher (more than 5 years experience).
· Funding is to be used for project implementation and/or for the teachers' time (stipends, substitute time, etc.).
· Grants should center around teachers creating new "classroom-based, student learning projects" that the teachers agree to implement collaboratively during the academic school year.
· The new and veteran teacher should not only collaborate on a classroom project, but also share teaching strategies and discuss issues affecting their personal careers and profession.
· Teachers should focus their projects on reducing isolation and encouraging collaboration and peer support.
· Innovation of the grant related to the support of coaching and mentoring between new and veteran teachers should be taken into consideration.
· Number of staff benefiting from the grant must be stated.
· Project must be aligned to the school improvement plan.
Requirements for Winning Teachers
· Winning teachers must attend the Teach for Excellence Awards Reception on October 25, 2007.
· Thank you letters must be submitted to Citigroup no later than December 1, 2007.
· A project evaluation must be submitted no later than May 12, 2008.
The intent is to help a new teacher who needs the support of a veteran teacher. For the purposes of this grant, the veteran teacher should have the experience, skills, attitude and ability from which you would want a new teacher to benefit.
