State Farm Service Learning Grants
The Pinellas Education Foundation is pleased to provide community service projects to Pinellas County Schools through a grant from State Farm Insurance for a 4th year. The purpose is to design school and/or community service activities that translate what the students learn into real-world applications. Projects should be reciprocal in nature, benefiting both the community and student. Students should take an active role in determining how the projects are identified and accomplished, creating interest and excitement for learning. Projects will be required to specifically address one of State Farm’s "nine elements necessary for education excellence" in their applications:
- Safety and discipline
- Parent involvement
- Assessments
- Learning readiness
- Standards
- Accountability
- Technology
- Professional development
- School autonomy
