Sponsored by noted Tampa Bay Area neurosurgeon, Dr. Jeffrey Walker, through the Pinellas Education Foundation, the Walker's Rising Stars Scholarship Competition provides college scholarships to Pinellas County public high school juniors and seniors. Scholarships up to $5,000 will be awarded to solo performers in the areas of dance, drama, vocal music, instrumental music, and visual arts and to groups of up to 3 students for Video Arts. The competition begins with an application and essay and will conclude with finalists being invited to display their works or perform at the Walker's Rising Stars Scholarship Awards Show in May at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. Special performance provided by the Tarpon Springs High School Jazz Ensemble!
