Teach for Excellence Classroom Grants allow teachers to create
innovative projects in the classroom to increase student achievement

“Book-A-Bration" lets students and teachers at Ridgecrest Elementary School host a special day when at-risk students "shop" for books to read over the summer. By allowing these students to begin their own home library, they are more likely to continue reading books during the summer months, thereby improving their literacy skills. The special day is planned and implemented by fifth grade students who also learn a great deal from their months of preparation, their participation in the big day, and their reflection after the event is over.
Thank you for the support to carry out this special project that has become a part of our Ridgecrest tradition. We are so grateful that we can continue it this year!

You too, can make a difference to students like those at Ridgecrest elementary.

For many of us, the winter holidays are the time that we take stock of our lives and pause to reflect on both our accomplishments and the challenges we have faced during the past year. Many educators and students throughout Pinellas County have a reason to be grateful this year because they have benefited from a Teach for Excellence Classroom Project funded by a grant.
Last year 171 classroom grants were awarded to teachers to create programs to enhance their classroom learning experience. This equates to 1 out of every 4 teachers who submitted a proposal. Sadly, 513 worthwhile classroom grant projects went unfunded last year. With your help, we can bridge these gaps for the children of Pinellas County. Your support can make the difference in funding an innovative classroom project that makes the difference in keeping a child engaged in school and on track to advance.

One by one, we can all make a difference for our children and our community.
Please give the gift of education this holiday season by sponsoring a Teach for
