2009 Superintendent's Roundtable
| The second in the 2009-10 Series of Superintendent’s Roundtable luncheons was held on Monday, November 9 in the Achieva Conference Center at the Stavros Institute. Superintendent Dr. Julie Janssen addressed the audience of approximately eighty business and community leaders. Audience members had the opportunity to ask Dr. Janssen about the issues related to education in Pinellas County. | ![]() |

In addition to responding to audience concerns and suggestions, Dr. Janssen presented a video report on the pilot group of school system principals and administrative teams participating in the Decentralized Decision Making (DDM) program. Through the DDM, school principals participate in training and partner with business coaches to develop business plans that redirect limited resources to the unique areas of critical need within individual schools. The program is designed to provide school principals with increased autonomy and the flexibility to implement innovative solutions. |

Catalina Marketing and Publix sponsored the event which showcased the talents of the students from the Commercial Foods and Culinary Arts Program at pTech. Under the guidance of the Co-Department Chairperson, Chef Brian Minkin, the students served the guests in addition to handling the set-up of the room and facilitating the flow of food service. |
