As part of the Evening of Excellence, the 2010 Hall of Honor inductee will take her place in the Free Enterprise Hall of Honor that recognizes business leaders who have selflessley and tirelessly served their community.  The elementary, middle and high school Business Partners of the Year will also be recognized, and will represent Pinellas County at the annual State Commissioner’s Business Recognition Awards

Each generation is defined by a handful of exceptional people. They are leaders with high ethical standards and a demonstrated philanthropic spirit. The Pinellas Free Enterprise Hall of Honor is bestowed upon individuals who have been important and successful role models. The award recognizes business leaders who have selflessly and tirelessly served their community.

 Jean Wittner

 

Jean Giles Wittner, President of Wittner Centres Inc., has been a boundless supporter of the Pinellas Education Foundation and an advocate for the students of our county.

Jean is an entrepreneur and accomplished business leader who chaired the Committee of Trustees of Eckerd College for more than 25 years. She also is a director of Raymond James Bank and was the first woman chairman of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Pinellas County. Jean was a founding member of the St. Petersburg Downtown Improvement Corp. and was among the inaugural members of the Pinellas County Business Women's Hall of Fame in 2003.

Demonstrating philanthropic spirit and service to the community through groups that range from the Girls Scouts to the United Way, Jean has served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Pinellas Education Foundation and has sponsored and mentored Doorways students. Jean’s record of community leadership and advocacy, both personally and professionally, set leading examples for businesses invested in being responsible corporate citizens and stewards of our communities.
