Business Partner Ron Bitz, General Manager of Homewood Suites by Hilton at 2233 Ulmerton Road Clearwater knows first hand the importance of education as he was an athletic coach for Northeast High School in St. Petersburg before going into hospitality and continues to support education and employment needs of student in the community. A genuine charitable oriented individual who loves kids, music and sports, especially the Florida State Seminoles; as evident by the walls in his office.

His record of supporting schools and young adults is a lengthy one, always one to go the extra mile for children’s needs he has taken on many projects over the years including supporting Tarpon Springs High School jazz & school bands. Nominated this year for Pinellas Education Foundation’s Business Partner of the Year Award by Tarpon Springs High School Music Education program. With a son playing for both the jazz & school band gave him a firsthand view of the students and school needs within the music department. Ron strives to solicit sponsorship to students struggling financially, along with volunteering to chaperone, provide transportation, hotel rooms and meals for events, Besides supporting Tarpon Springs music program he has mentored the Center of Excellence Hospitality Program at Northeast High School; you will hear his pride as he tells you three of his employees at Homewood Suites by Hilton are from Northeast High School.

His ‘must do something’ attitude has Ron and Homewood Suites by Hilton engaged in many Pinellas schools activities, his dedication doesn’t end there he also extends that helping hand to civic and professional organizations throughout the area.
